19 Aug 2026 ¶

 WHEREAS the Apache Software Foundation ("the Foundation") is committed to
 providing a welcoming, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all
 participants in its projects, communications channels, and events; and

 WHEREAS a proposed Apache Software Foundation Code of Conduct, as provided
 in Attachment CT, adapted from the Contributor Covenant version 2.1, has
 been prepared and circulated to the membership for review and comment; and

 WHEREAS the proposed Code of Conduct provides for enforcement within each
 project community by that project's Project Management Committee, with the
 President of the Foundation, or the President's designee, serving as the
 escalation point for matters that extend beyond a single project or raise
 Foundation-wide concerns;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board endorses the Apache Software
 Foundation Code of Conduct, as provided in Attachment CT; and be it
 further

 RESOLVED that the President is directed to adopt, publish, administer, and
 maintain the Code of Conduct as Foundation policy, and to establish and
 publish the reporting contacts and list of designated volunteers referred to
 therein; and be it further

 RESOLVED that the Board confirms that the responsibility of each Project
 Management Committee for enforcement of the Code of Conduct within its project
 community is exercised under the authority delegated to Project Management
 Committees by the Board; and be it further

 RESOLVED that no action taken under the Code of Conduct shall terminate or
 suspend the membership of any ASF Member except in accordance with section 4.7
 of the Bylaws of the Foundation; and be it further

 RESOLVED that the President may amend the Code of Conduct as needed, provided
 that any substantive change to its scope, standards, or enforcement provisions
 shall be approved by the Board before taking effect; and be it further

 RESOLVED that the Code of Conduct, once published, supersedes the Foundation's
 existing published Code of Conduct and any prior Foundation-level conduct
 guidelines to the extent of any inconsistency; and be it further

 RESOLVED that the enforcement of the Code of Conduct shall start once
 published, applying to events that occur after that date, and shall not be
 used to retroactively address events that precede the date of publication.
